Bacardi Gran Reserva 8 Años Rum is Originally created in 1862, OCHO remained the sole reserve of the BACARDI family for seven generations. It remains in limited supply and can be found in the world’s best bars.
When crafting OCHO the Mastros De Ron Bacardi age the rum in American Oak Barrels which develops the oak, vanilla, caramel, spice and dried fruit notes and its distinctive smoothness.
The rums used to blend OCHO are matured for a minimum of 8 years under the intense heat of the Caribbean sun. This tropical climate rapidly accelerates the ageing process, especially the evaporation, known as the angels’s share. This allows the complexity and smoothness of the rum to develop much quicker than spirits aged in cooler climates.
OCHO makes a great rum old fashioned or is perfect simply poured over ice.
