This 13.5% ABV single-vineyard release combines fruit from older hillside vines and younger A-block parcels, delivering a terroir-led style with ripe fruit, fine tannin and savoury detail.
Fruit for the 2022 release was sourced exclusively from the Sound of White vineyard. Older hillside vines supplied more than half of the fruit, with Dijon and Abel clones complemented by younger Abel and clone 5 parcels. Handpicked lots spent 18 to 25 days on skins, including 10% whole bunches, before maturation in French oak barriques, 25% new. The wine underwent natural malolactic fermentation and was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
A deceptively light colour introduces aromas of dried herbs, bramble, crushed red berries and earth. The palate brings plump ripe fruit into focus, shaped by softly powdered tannins and a compact, structured feel. A black Assam tea-leaf note appears on the finish, adding a savoury detail to this elegant expression of the 2022 vintage.
