    Tasting Notes:

The color of this wine, with sparkling reflections, is intense and deep. Its complex nose combines black fruits (blackcurrant, black cherry, blueberry) and smoky notes of the terroir, with a touch of spice and pepper. The attack, soft and silky, evolves towards a full and harmonious mouth. A nice balance between tannins and freshness, which develops through a very nice length.

    Description

    CHATEAU LATOUR MARTILLAC A.O.C. Pessac-Leognan

CHATEAU LATOUR MARTILLAC A.O.C. Pessac-Leognan. Classified as early as 1953, Château Latour-Martillac owes its name and history to the tower adorning its main courtyard, a remnant of a fort built in Martillac in the 12th century by the ancestors of the famous philosopher Montesquieu. This estate attracted the attention of Edouard Kressmann, a merchant in Bordeaux since 1871, especially for the quality of his white wines. His eldest son, Alfred, bought the estate in 1930 and developed the red vineyard, with his son Jean, on the remarkable gravelly ridge of the village of Martillac. Together they draw the original label, barred with gold and sand, which adorns the bottles since 1934. The vintage 1934 was chosen, in red, by the Wine and Spirit Benevolent Society of London for the banquet of the coronation of his Majesty George VI King of England in 1936. Today, Loïc and Tristan Kressmann, the last two sons of Jean Kressmann, assisted by the best oenologists consultants from Bordeaux, continue the family tradition to make the most of this Château.
