Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc is a dry Marlborough white wine from New Zealand, made from Sauvignon Blanc and presented here in a 75cl bottle at 13.5% ABV. Cloudy Bay’s signature wine draws fruit largely from Marlborough’s Wairau Valley, delivering the vibrant citrus-led, fruit-forward style for which the estate is known.
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc is made from Sauvignon Blanc grown largely in the Rapaura, Renwick and Brancott Valley sub-regions of Marlborough’s Wairau Valley. Cloudy Bay ferments fruit from each vineyard separately before blending, selecting from more than 90 batches to shape the final wine. The area’s warm, dry maritime climate and free-draining gravelly soils are central to the wine’s regional character.
The wine shows a straw-green appearance. Bright citrus, makrut lime, orchard blossom and passionfruit lead the aroma, followed by a concentrated, mouthwatering palate of juicy stone fruit and subtle tropical character. Fine minerality and Meyer lemon acidity bring definition and freshness to the fruit profile.
Serve Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc chilled, around 8–10°C. Its crisp, aromatic Marlborough style is a natural partner for oysters, sashimi, steamed mussels, grilled fish, green salads and goat’s cheese, and it also suits relaxed aperitif occasions.
