Fuenteseca Reserva Extra Añejo Tequila 18 Year Old 1995
A true masterpiece in the world of fine Tequila, the Fuenteseca Reserva Extra Añejo 18 Year Old was distilled in September 1995 from mature blue agave and crafted with extraordinary patience. This rare release showcases the artistry of Enrique Fonseca, one of Mexico’s most respected master distillers.
The spirit was initially aged for six years in Canadian white oak casks that previously held rye whiskey, stored at high altitude for a unique maturation profile. In 2001, the casks were opened and carefully blended before being divided into two finishes: half returned to Canadian oak, and the other transferred into European oak casks seasoned with Californian red wine. These barrels were then moved to a cooler, breezier climate, where the Tequila continued to mature gracefully for another 12 years, reaching an impressive 18 years total aging.
On the nose, this Extra Añejo reveals layers of cinnamon, toasted oak, roasted agave, and milk chocolate ganache, with subtle spice and a faint note of resin. The palate is rich, full-bodied, and velvety, carrying flavors of dark chocolate, warm baking spices, and roasted agave, balanced with a gentle heat that lingers into an exceptionally long finish.
With its complex history of maturation across multiple oak types and climates, this is a collector’s Tequila rarely seen on the market—perfect for connoisseurs seeking depth, refinement, and rarity in every sip.
