HACIEANDA Solano Seleccion
HACIEANDA Solano Seleccion is a red wine blending the wonders of 30-year-old vines cultivated at altitudes using organic agriculture methods with a continental climate and respect for the fruit shown by the used barrels it ages in.
The vineyards belong to the Cubillo family, owners of the winery, and are located in La Aguilera in the Burgos region of Ribera del Duero where day/night temperature differences are even greater than in other parts of the appellation, leading to a slower ripening of the grapes and wonderfully balanced, complex and fresh wines. Another factor which adds elegance to the wine is thanks to the winery’s idea of planting small quantities of local grapes, such as Albillo, alongside their old Tempranillo vines.
The minimal intervention work of oenologists Sophie Khün and Toni Sarrión (Bodega Mustiguillo) includes minimizing the use of sulphites and ageing the wine in used barrels to safeguard the essence of the fruit and avoid superfluous tannins. Hacienda Solano Selección is a wine that looks back to the traditions of previous generations, while facing the future with confidence.
