KOSHINO KANCHUBAI Tokubetsu Honjozo. The brewery “Niigata Meijo” is located in Ojiya City, which is famous for Ojiya Chijimi and Nishikigoi. We use high-quality water that is said to enhance the color of Nishikigoi. Most of the raw rice used in the brewing process is produced in Niigata.
In the fall of 1999, the Daiginjo sake exhibited at the Kanto Shinetsu Regional Taxation Bureau Sake Appraisal won the top prize in 273 exhibitions. In the autumn of 1998, Niigata Prefecture was ranked number one, and has been ranked number one for two consecutive years. At the All Japan New Sake Appraisal, we won the gold prize 8 times out of 11 times until 2001, the number of times we have received this award is the highest among breweries in Niigata Prefecture, and we are the only sake brewery in Niigata Prefecture.
