MACNAIR’s Lum Reek 12 Year Old
MACNAIR’s Lum Reek 12 Year Old. We’re delighted to present MacNair’s Lum Reek, a peated blended malt created by our Master Blender Billy Walker with packaging inspired by company founder Harvey MacNair; Victorian gentleman, bon vivant and raconteur.
To create this whisky, Billy has sourced peated Islay and Speyside malts, married these with richer GlenAllachie and then filled to specially selected casks. These casks are matured on site at GlenAllachie Distillery until the final cask vatting is blended by Billy and bottled at 46% ABV, unchilfiltered and with no added colouring. The result is a lovely rich, balanced malt with hints of peat smoke on the nose and palate.
The old Scottish saying “Lang may yer lum reek”, literally meaning long may your chimney smoke, is the best way to wish someone a long, healthy and prosperous life. Best done with a dram of MacNair’s Lum Reek.
