    Description

    SANTA HELENA Gran Reserva Merlot

SANTA HELENA Gran Reserva Merlot. Viña Santa Helena, founded in 1942 and with more than 75 years of experience, continually striving to perfect its techniques and produce grapes with optimal results for each of its wine ranges. Immense attention and energy are focused on the land to ensure sustainable practices across all agricultural processes. With a large winemaking team striving to harness and fulfill the qualitative potential of each vineyard.

The Central Valley (El Valle Central) of Chile is one of the most important wine-producing areas in South America in terms of volume. It is one of the largest wine regions, stretching from the Maipo Valley (just south of Santiago) to the southern end of the Maule Valley. The Central Valley is home to a variety of grapes, but plantings are dominated by the internationally popular Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Chile’s ‘icon’ grape, Carmenere, is also of importance here, just as Malbec is to Mendoza, on the other side of the Andes. The cooler corners of the Central Valley are being increasingly developed, as winemakers experiment with varieties such as Viognier, Riesling and even Gewurztraminer.
