SONS OF EDEN Kennedy GSM
SONS OF EDEN Kennedy GSM is focused around what the Barossa does best, and this Grenache Shiraz Mourvedre blend is a brilliant example of what the label is all about.
Not only that, it’s hands down one of the best value GSM’s in the country!
It’s named after the Kennedy family who owned the 50+ year old, low yielding Grenache vineyard that makes up the majority of this wine. The Shiraz and Mourvedre fruit has similar old vine pedigree giving the wine great concentration, with the restrained use of older French oak really allowing the gorgeous fruit to do the talking.
Rich, ripe and Barossan to the core, the Kennedy is an absolute steal.
About Sons of Eden
Sons of Eden is a partnership between experienced winemaker (Corey Ryan) and viticulturist (Simon Cowham) who both “learnt and refined their trades in the vineyards and cellars of Eden Valley”. The boys have successfully grown their brand with a suite of full-flavoured but well-proportioned Barossa and Eden Valley wines – predominantly reds – that have gained impressive critical acclaim.
The wines are built on classic Barossan varieties and blends, but with a modern elegance that makes the wines simultaneously approachable and cellar-worthy. With Cowham’s vineyard resources and Ryan’s winemaking prowess, Sons of Eden has become one of the best value producers in Australia.
From The Producer
The KENNEDY is a classic blend of old vine Barossa Grenache, Shiraz and Mourvedre varieties. Named as a tribute to the legendary Barossa Vigneron’s who pioneered the planting of the old treasured vineyards, which the Barossa enjoys today. The Grenache fruit is the ‘soul’ of this blend and is from an exceptionally low yielding 50+ year-old Light Pass vineyard. Originally planted by the Kennedy Family, with ownership eventually being passed onto the charismatic Leo ‘Joe’ KENNEDY who nurtured the vines for many years, selling his prized fruit to local winemakers.
