Tomatin 15 Year Old 2006 the Port Edition Portuguese Collection
Tomatin 15 Year Old 2006 The Port Edition Portuguese Collection is a 15-year-old Highland single malt Scotch whisky from Scotland and the first release in Tomatin’s Portuguese Collection. Distilled in 2006, it spent more than eight years in traditional Scotch whisky oak before moving to Tawny Port casks for a further seven years, creating a fruit-forward Port-cask expression bottled at 46%.
This 15-year-old Tomatin was distilled on 8 September 2006 and initially laid down in traditional Scotch whisky oak casks for more than eight years. On 23 April 2015, it was transferred to Tawny Port casks, where it matured for a further seven years. Bottled on 9 May 2022 at 46% ABV, it is a 700ml Highland single malt Scotch whisky.
Amber in colour, this Port-cask Tomatin opens with Black Forest gateau, warming spice and fresh summer-fruit aromas. The palate centres on deep forest fruits, bringing blackberry, raspberry and cherry character, while peach and apricot sweetness emerges again at the close. The profile offers a clear contrast between rich berry notes and brighter stone-fruit tones.
Tomatin 15 Year Old 2006 The Port Edition Portuguese Collection suits an unhurried neat pour when its layered fruit and spice character can be explored. It is also a considered choice for a whisky tasting focused on cask influence, especially alongside the Madeira and Moscatel editions from the same collection.
