UNDURRAGA Carmenère
UNDURRAGA Carmenère is a Chilean red wine from the Central Valley, made in the U de Undurraga range from a blend led by Carménère. It offers an accessible, fruit-forward expression of the variety, with plum and spice on the nose, a soft palate and persistent character. The supplied Malaysia-market listing is a 75cl bottle at 13% ABV.
This Central Valley wine is made from 85% Carménère and 15% Syrah. The official technical sheet records harvesting in 500kg bins, from sedimentary, well-drained loam-clay soils in a humid Mediterranean climate. It is kept in stainless-steel tanks for between two and five months, under the direction of winemaker Patricio Lucero.
In the glass, this wine shows an intense violet colour. Its fruity bouquet brings together plum and spice notes, followed by a soft palate with good intensity. The texture remains approachable while the wine’s verified persistence carries the profile through to a lingering close.
Serve UNDURRAGA Carmenère at 16–18°C with pasta, risotto or lamb. Its soft texture and plum-and-spice profile make it a suitable choice for relaxed dinners and food-led gatherings.
