The Glenlivet Single Malt Scotch Whisky is crafted from premium barley originating from Crisp Maltings, Portgordon- a village in Moray. The malted and mashed barley is left to ferment in meticulously maintained wooden washbacks which contribute to the flowery notes in the whisky.
Once fermentation is over, distillation occurs twice in specially designed copper-pot stills with a distinct lantern shape that helps remove any impurities and imparts a pure flavour to the dram.
Finally, the spirit is aged in a range or casks including American oak, French, Orloroso sherry or a mixture of casks. This process is what produces a robust whisky loved by all!
