TASTING NOTES:.

This 963 bottle from Yamazakura, Sasanokawa Shuzo, was very recently released for the Japanese market, with only a limited number of bottles available.

• Aroma: the cereal notes, it smells like corn, not oak or wood. Spicy, laurels
• Palate: Pretty solid stuff, boiled spices with abundance of citrus, thought tad sugary with hint of young nutshell notes but not cloying.
• Finish: Medium-long, honey and citrus, flow of smooth grain, steady as it goes. Well zests, gingery warm with nice spiciness, more pickle brine rises with hint of new make and sulphur linger.
