BRUICHLADDICH 1986/30
BRUICHLADDICH 1986/30. Part of the Rare Cask Series, ‘The Magnificent Seven’ 1986/30 is a dram with a remarkable history, drawn from Bruichladdich’s very last seven casks of spirit from 1986. It’s elegant, floral and ultra-rare with intense, full-term sherry maturation for 30 glorious years.
It was first filled into Oloroso butts in 1986, then the spirit lay untouched in Bruichladdich’s loch-side warehouses until 2012 (already 26 years old), when then Master Distiller Jim McEwan decided to supercharge this superb single malt by filling it into a privileged parcel of Pedro Ximinez butts from winemaker, Jan Pettersen at bodega Fernando de Castilla.
Limited to 4,200 bottles worldwide, the 1986 ‘Magnificent Seven’ is bottled at the distillery without chill-filtration or artificial colouring at the natural strength of 44.6% alc. and also comes with a beautiful, metal inscribed hangtag adorned with the particulars of the bottle.
