    Description

    KUBOTA Senjyu Sake 300ml

KUBOTA Senjyu Sake 300ml. Kubota’s bestselling sake, and it’s not hard to see why. If you’re looking for the perfect sake to go with a tapas-style meal encompassing lots of varied dishes, then look no further than this crowd pleaser.

Immensely food friendly, Kubota Ginjo Senjyu is crafted from pure Gohyakumangoku rice, a variety grown in Niigata and renowned for its clean flavour. Despite the immense cost and skill involved, 45-50% of the rice grains are gently polished away, which is not far off the level you’d expect for a Daiginjo (the highest level of refinement in sake). Light, crisp and dry, it displays melon, dried pineapple, candied fruits, banana, nutmeg, a light nuttiness and a touch of roasted asparagus. This versatile little bottle can be served lightly chilled, at room temperature, or even lightly warmed in a bain-marie, but our preference is to serve it chilled with a starter and then let it gradually warm through the meal as the evening progresses.

Kubota is made at Asahi Shuzo in Niigata, a mountainous Japanese prefecture full of rivers and valleys, and home to Mount Tanigawa. Firm believers that “the quality of sake can never exceed the quality of its ingredients”, Asahi Brewery use only the finest raw materials. They work closely with local farmers to ensure access to the ultimate sake-brewing rice and keep their production techniques a well-guarded secret.
