The MACALLAN 18 Year Old Sherry Oak 2020 is a rich and complex single malt from the Highlands. Matured in Oloroso sherry seasoned oak casks that originated in Jerez, Spain, the aromas of dried fruits and fiery ginger as well as sweet vanilla and warm cinnamon is just one of the signs of a really good single malt.

The colour of a Macallan 18 year old is au-naturel – light mahogany and extremely pleasing to the eye. On the nose, hints of dried fruits and ginger with hints of vanilla and cinnamon waft through the scotch glass, enticing whisky drinkers to take a sip.
The 18 year old Macallan Scotch tastes soft yet rich. Hints of spice, clove, orange and a distinct toasted mature oak can be tasted on the palate. This single malt Scotch whisky has a lingering finish with hints of dried fruits, ginger and orange zest.
There are a few ways to enjoy a Macallan 18 year old Sherry Oak 2020. The Macallan distillery itself recommends two methods – the ‘18 years old ice ball’ and cocktail ‘sherry and share alike’.
The 18 years old ice ball is inspired by Japanese cocktail culture whereby bartenders would hand-carve ice balls to create sculpted spheres that would melt slowly. When drinking a Macallan year old single malt Scotch, using an ice ball that would melt slowly whilst chilling your whisky (yet releasing less water), preserves the integrity of the single malt and all its remarkable flavours.
The sherry and share alike, on the other hand, allows the single malt drinker to experience the flavors of sweet raisin against the tartness of fresh lemon and crispness of Spanish cava.
