SCALLYWAG Year Of The Ox Edition a commemorative bottling in honour of 2021: The Lunar New Year of the Ox. Marrying only a handful of selected Single Cask Single Malts, from Scotland’s Speyside region, this latest innovation from Douglas Laing & Co. is 100% Sherry cask matured in a combination of Oloroso and Pedro Ximinéz butts. The deep amber spirit colour is entirely natural, owing to the Sherry maturation, and in traditional Douglas Laing style, it is proudly offered without chill-filtration.
Inspired by a long line of Douglas Laing family Fox Terriers, Scallywag Malt Scotch Whisky is a marriage of aged Speyside Single Malts matured predominantly in Spanish Sherry casks. The resulting Whisky reveals an explosion of rich, dark fruits, chocolate and spice interwoven with late vanilla. Award-winning Scallywag is bottled and released in genuinely small, precious batches.
Douglas Laing & Co is an independent bottler of Scotch whisky. Based in Glasgow, Scotland, the company has a number of brands including its “Remarkable Regional Malts” range, encompassing The Epicurean, Timorous Beastie, Scallywag, Rock Island and Big Peat, as well as Old Particular, Provenance and Xtra Old Particular, which they collectively call their “Exceptional Single Casks”.
