    A full flavoured, early drinking Shiraz. Benchmark articulates the definition of generously proportioned yet approachable Barossa Shiraz. Immensely satisfying with vibrant varietal expressions of ripe plum and soft cherry spice, Benchmark is fashioned for the red wine enthusiast with the focus on everyday enjoyment.

    Grant Burge’s extensive network of vineyards and growers guarantees access to the finest quality fruit, harvests of fully ripe Shiraz exhibiting outstanding flavour and balance. Burge has taken an active interest for decades in developing and nurturing sites that allow for maximum development of varietal Shiraz characters and concentration of flavour. Selecting the best grapes, much of the fruit from traditional winemaking families. Fruit is crushed, de-stemmed and transferred to fermenters for a week of vinification. Upon completion of malolactic, batches are transferred to older American and French oak hogsheads for ten months maturation and the final assemblage.

    Tasting Note: Deep red with vibrant purple hues. A complex nose showing soft plum fruit aromas and a touch of sweet vanilla. The palate is soft and generous, bursting with dark berry fruit and festive cake, savoury yet subtle peppered spice addsto the complexity.
