TASTING NOTES:
Nose: Immediately there’s a big smoky bacon crisps hit with coal dust and washed-up seaweed.
Palate: Thick and oily and so Islay in style with chimney smoke, autumn bonfires and peated barley.
Finish: Long-lasting and more of that big peat character but balanced by an underlying treacle toffee sweetness.

This 2011 Caol Ila is a single cask bottling for Douglas Laing’s Old Particular range of whisky. It was distilled in February 2011 and bottled in June 2021, and it was one of 279 bottles charged from a refill Hogshead (Ref – DL15161). No colouring and no chill filtration.
