Created as part of The Macallan x Charles Rennie Mackintosh collaboration, this exclusive release pays tribute to Mackintosh’s 1902 stained-glass panel “The Spirit of the Rose” and celebrates the circularity of life and nature through richly sherried Macallan character. It is bottled at 50.4% ABV in a 70cl format.
Matured in sherry-seasoned European oak casks, this expression reflects Mackintosh’s time in Europe and showcases a deep-coloured whisky with naturally developed flavour and structure. The Macallan describes it as an exceptional deep oak single malt, built around notes of raisin, fig, polished oak, cherry, almonds, orange, and treacle.
On the nose, rich dried fruits, raisins, fig, polished oak, cherry, orange, almonds, and treacle create an elegant, layered opening. The palate is rich and refined, revealing sweet oak, raisins, vanilla, ginger, apple, and a delicate wisp of leaf tea.
